Janet's Recommended Restoration Artists

Accidents will inevitably happen to your Lladró
Accidents will inevitably happen, whether from disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes or just from the thumping tail of a prancing pet. Although A RETIRED COLLECTION, LLC does not deal in restored items, we often get questions from heart-broken collectors wishing to have a special item in their own collection professionally restored after breakage. All restorers aren't created equal, however, and in these days when mail-order "quickie" courses are being offered in porcelain restoration, it's a good thing to remember that amateur repairs can do more harm than good. (Did you know, for example, that most professional restorers charge extra for glue removal in a poorly-executed previous repair attempt?) Be sure to save all broken-off pieces, then have the item cared for by a professional.

Be sure to get a restoration cost estimate so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not the work is worth doing. As a general rule, a top-of-the-line restoration by a professional will restore up to 75% of the value. (In the case of very rare items that are relatively unavailable in any condition, the restoration value percentage may be even higher.)

Here we list restoration artists we know to be competent and skilled in the repair of damaged LladrĂ³. We list several from all over the country. You can sort to find the one nearest you.
